Dear Friends,

March certainly came in like a lion and went out like a lamb. We had some very bitter cold days and now it is warming up, and life is beginning to stir all around us. Trees are budding and daffodils are waving in the breeze. The birds are back and beginning to woo their mates and build their nests.

Black Butterfly with green spots

The Male Tailed Jay Butterfly is my newest addition to my butterfly collection. This one is common in southeast Asia and Australia. His green spots blend well with the green foliage for camouflage.

Montezuma Bird

The Montezuma bird is from central America and is large at 20 inches long and over a pound in weight. He is approximately twice as large as his female companion. They live in colonies high in the forest canopy.

Male House Finch

The male House Finch is on the other end of the spectrum at only 5 inches long and less than an ounce in weight! They are quite social and are seen in flocks. They are monogamous for each mating season. (Females prefer the reddest males!)

One foggy morning we went to Bell Grove and were awed by the beauty of the scene. We go to Bell Grove often and enjoy the gently rolling fields and the mountains in the distance. But this morning the melting snow left puddles that reflected the shadow of the tree. ‘My’ Sycamore Tree had no leaves, and the tiniest branches were nearly invisible. It was awesomely quieting to my soul.

It reminded me that sometimes I need to see life through a foggy lens to take my eyes off the details and see the big picture. What is most important, getting my point across or giving room for someone else’s opinion? Am I nitpicking details when I should be seeing the big picture?

Foggy Day

My prayer for you is that you are able to see your situation as God sees it and trust Him for the best outcome.

God bless and keep you!

Diane
