My Malaysian friends are celebrating Chinese New Year, A few other years, I painted the animal of the year. I decided to do it again this year. According to the Chinese calendar, this is the Year of the Horse.
I had never painted a horse before and was a little intimidated but decided to try anyway. Mike found a demo by Anna Bucciarelli painting this horse. It was a sped-up video of her painting and explaining her technique. This painting challenged me. But It was so rewarding to see it take shape as each layer of paint was added. In the end I was very pleased at this first attempt at painting a horse.
Horses are a symbol of vitality, passion, and progress. May we each face this new year with the passion and energy this horse expresses!
