The reference photo of this Iberian Magpie was in an email I received from Bird Buddies. This group of bird lovers send a picture of a different bird each day along with a poem about the bird. I used colored pencils for this sketch. The pencils are more limited than watercolor in the vibrancy and clarity. I will probably paint this bird again in watercolor.
Magpies are gregarious birds known for their loud chattering when they gather in small flocks.
