The Chaffinch is a European song bird. “Chaf” in old English meant bachelor. These birds got the name because the males stay in the breeding area year-round, but the females migrate to warmer climates during winter. Hence the bachelor birds. This was an Anna Mason tutorial that I really enjoyed painting.
